- GIF's & JPEG's don't have a ModeID imbedded in them, the problem is that
- the GIF's ar 8 bit (up to 256 colors) while JPEG's are 24 bit (over 16
- million colors). Your display can undoubtedly show higher resolution
- GIF's on screen than JPEG's because of the difference in the number of
- colors.
